13 Japanese Birds is a 13 CD series by the Japanese noise musician Masami Akita under the name Merzbow. Each CD is limited to 1,000 copies and will be release by Important Records from January 2009 to February 2010. The series is inspired by Olivier Messiaen's Catalogue d'oiseaux, and also features a return to Merzbow's usage of analogue sounds and a live drumkit
